Hi! I'm Robin. I am a bit obsessed about taking photographs. It's not just about catching a cute cat moment. Of course, I love and photograph those as well but I also try to capture something a little bit different. I love capturing what I feel when I see it. Emotion brings a feeling, memory, or picture into the mind and that's what I hope to capture with my photography long after I've taken the shot.
When I'm out and about, I am amazed by all the beauty that surrounds me. The light, the colors, the emotions...I could stare at light and shadows all day long! I've also been known to stare at textures like concrete, marble, aged barn doors just to see how if I can capture an emotion or feeling of movement. I try to see more than just a pretty picture. I want to feel it! My hope is that when I capture what I see, that you can feel it too.
My favorite time to photograph is during the golden hour before sunset or on a calm early morning before the light becomes too harsh when there are flowers in the fields and the sun is shining through the petals and leaves. Both times give me the lighting and results I'm after. While I love to photograph outside, I also have a large natural light window in my studio which gives me gorgeous soft hazy light so I sometimes photograph there especially if the weather isn't ideal.
Color is very important to me, not only in my photography and graphic design, but in all aspects of my life. My favorite color changes from time-to-time but it's always based on what evokes emotion in me. Even in my home decor, I try to use color purposefully to create a 'mood' as well as in my photography.
My favorite season is fall, not only because it's my birthday and wedding anniversary month but because of all the wonderful colors in nature at this time. Spring is my second favorite season for the same reason...color...color...color!
For me, photography is about seeing beyond the obvious. It's about the mystery in something...seeing the hidden meaning and exposing it.
I currently live in Carmel, Indiana, an amazing city just north of Indianapolis, Indiana, with my husband and two adorable cats. We both enjoy photographing nature and sunsets while taking long walks together.
